Apple marks the return of MLS with new Apple Maps guides, Apple Music playlists, more

With the 2026 World Cup drawing to a close, Major League Soccer returns tomorrow on Apple TV, alongside several tie-in features in Apple Maps, Apple Sports, Apple Fitness+, and more. Here are the details.
MLS is back on Apple TV
Apple today highlighted the return of Apple League Soccer, with six matches scheduled for the next few days:
Thursday, July 16:
- CF Montréal vs. Toronto FC (7:30 p.m. ET)
- Chicago Fire vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC (8:30 p.m. ET)
- St. Louis CITY SC vs. Sporting Kansas City (8:30 p.m. ET)
- Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers (10:30 p.m. ET)
Friday, July 17:
- Nashville SC vs. Atlanta United FC (8:10 p.m. ET)
- LA Galaxy vs. Los Angeles Football Club (10:15 p.m. ET)
To get fans ready for the return of the regular season, Apple announced several MLS-themed features coming to many of its platforms, including a new Time to Walk audio experience for Apple Fitness+ subscribers.
The new episode features German soccer legend Thomas Müller, “as he reflects on the hard work he put in before his career took off and shares why he welcomes the challenge of big life changes.”
Apple Music is also getting multiple exclusive playlists created by stars such as Real Salt Lake’s Diego Luna and FC Cincinnati’s Evander da Silva Ferreira, as well as team-themed playlists for the New York Red Bulls, New York City FC, Orlando City SC, and many more from both Eastern and Western conferences.
On Apple Maps, the company is releasing “dedicated Matchday Guides created by MLS clubs and city guides created by players to find recommendations for local restaurants to catch a game, explore city favorites, get detailed information about their stadiums, and more.
Users who rely on the Apple Sports app can stay up to date with the league, following live scores, standings, play-by-play updates, lineup formations, and team stats, and more.
Finally, Apple says:
To mark the return of Major League Soccer, adidas will host a two-day celebration at the adidas Home of Soccer in Brooklyn, New York, on July 16 and 17, featuring watch parties, appearances by MLS players, an MLS jersey showcase, and additional fan experiences.
MLS matches are available at no extra cost to Apple TV subscribers in more than 100 countries and regions, with Apple also offering exclusive content and access to tournaments and playoff games throughout the season.
