The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Main Selling Point Is Turning Into Its Biggest Defect

Galaxy S26 Ultra owners are reporting a major issue with the phone’s display. Quite a few units have a strange reddish or warm tint on white, gray, and other interface elements, usually when settings such as Eye Comfort Shield, Adaptive Color Tone, and color filters are enabled. Another common culprit? The device’s coveted Privacy Display.

Photos of the issue depict S26 Ultras with reddish rectangles toward the center of the screen; these bleed into plain white toward the screen’s edges.

“The issue is not present when the new product is first unboxed but appears after two to three months of use,” one post reads.

Samsung’s own support documentation for the S26 series says users may see “slightly different” red or yellow tones and advises them to tune the display through Screen mode and white balance controls. To do this, go to Settings > Display > Screen mode. Choose Vivid and adjust the RGB sliders in Advanced Settings for better whites and colors.

It’s also been suggested that users should first turn off Eye Comfort Shield and Adaptive Color Tone, as both result in a warmer look. Users can also try disabling color inversion, color correction, and color filters under Accessibility > Vision enhancements.

Finally, some forum users suggest turning off Privacy Display if they see odd color or brightness behavior, because this setting changes how the screen looks from different angles. But this is one of the model’s most attractive features; without it, the price of an S26 Ultra may no longer be worth it.

On the other hand, some are reporting that a constant red tint may be due to a hardware or calibration issue that can’t be completely fixed by settings. If the reddish tint on your S26 Ultra remains after resetting color settings, turning off Eye Comfort Shield and Adaptive Color Tone, adjusting screen mode, and restarting the phone, it might be time to visit the nearest Samsung service center.

So much for being “Consumer Reports’ top-rated phone.”
