Samsung Is Reportedly Planning 5 Foldables for 2027, Including an Extra-Wide Unit

Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning to expand its foldable phone lineup to five models in 2027. According to the Korean outlet ETNews, one of these will be a new extra-wide unit with “a screen aspect ratio optimized for video viewing.”

The lineup is expected to include:

The as-yet-unnamed wide model would join the regular Fold 9, which was earlier expected to be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. As with all leaks and rumors, however, nothing has been officially confirmed, including product names, screen sizes, and other details.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 shape that debuted this year gives the phone a more tablet-like layout that’s proven popular enough for Samsung to increase production by at least a million additional units. If it’s the wider screen Galaxy buyers crave, next year’s extra-wide format could drive another sales surge.
