Here Are the Biggest Gemini Updates Announced at Made by Google 2026

At this week’s Made by Google showcase, Google introduced some major Gemini Intelligence tools that will debut with the Pixel 11 series, which hits shelves on August 20.

An all-new transcription tool called Rambler uses Gemini to convert spoken language into clear, concise text rather than transcribing it word-for-word, skipping fillers like “um” and “hmm.” It can also cut repetition, add punctuation, and revise messages to make them squeaky clean or more professional before sending. While Rambler is said to work best online, basic dictation works offline. Finally, the feature’s support page mentions usage limits, but doesn’t yet specify what those are.

Proactive Assistance—Google’s new name for Magic Cue—uses agentic AI to complete some tasks within Google Maps, find parking and other peripheral details before an event, quickly complete travel forms, and more. It could even automatically surface loyalty cards when you arrive at participating stores, if you’re okay with sharing such minute location data.

The company says Gemini can handle multistep tasks across more than 40 apps on Pixel 11 phones. This includes organizing trips, finding recommendations based on previous emails, saving places to Maps, adding sports schedules to Calendar, and more.

Among Gemini’s smaller yet convenient updates are improved Live Translate for podcasts, YouTube videos, and other apps, as well as a Gboard feature that uses the smartphone camera to translate sign language into text.
