Amazon Raises Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, and Eero Prices by up to 60%
Amazon raised prices on its Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, and Eero hardware lines over the weekend, with increases reaching 60% on some models. The price hikes are meant to cover higher memory and storage costs driven by a global shortage related to AI, according to a statement sent to Fortune.
Here’s a sampling of Amazon’s price changes:

The base Echo Dot now costs $79.99, up from $49.99.

The 16GB Kindle rose to $149.99 from $109.99.

The Eero Pro 7 is listed at $799.99, up from $699.99.
Other models also saw increases, though not as steep. Amazon said they tried to keep prices low despite rising costs but eventually had to raise them. It’s also reportedly planning sporadic promotions throughout the year.
Apple, Framework, and others have raised prices or reduced memory options due to RAMageddon, which is driven by AI data center demand. Amazon itself plans to spend $80-100 billion on its AI projects in 2026, focusing primarily on infrastructure.
