Sony Adds Over 100 Free Live TV Channels to US PS5s

Sony has turned the PlayStation 5 into a free live TV hub. Users in the United States can now access Sony Pictures Television’s “Live TV on PS5” service, which offers dozens of live channels, without paying for a subscription like PlayStation Plus or downloading an extra app.

To use it, go to the Media tab, select “Live TV on PS5,” and sign in with your PlayStation account. Sony says the lineup includes over 100 channels at launch, with new channels and themed programming added over time.

Here’s a sample of what you’ll find on your PS5:

• Movie channels like Lionsgate’s MovieSphere, Sony One Horror Hits, and Cinevault.

• TV shows such as Community, Forensic Files, Hell’s Kitchen, The Walking Dead, Fear Factor, and Ice Road Truckers.

• Anime series like Naruto, Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter, and Death Note, as well as channels like Black Clover.  

• Sports access, including FOX Sports, NASCAR, NBC Sports Now, and UFC.

• News and weather channels, including NBC News Now, Fox Weather, and LiveNOW from FOX.

• Popular web content such as Hot Ones and esports streams.

The service is ad‑supported. Access should roll out to Canadian users next; additional regions haven’t been confirmed yet. Sony says it plans to bring the service to Bravia TVs later this year, but for now, there’s no word on whether it will come to PlayStation 4 or other consoles.
