Lawsuit‑Facing Apple Leaker Says All Future iPhones Could Lead Back to the Air

Prominent Apple leaker Jon Prosser says the long‑term future of the iPhone line could revolve around a single model that closely resembles today’s ultra‑thin iPhone Air. In his latest video, the Front Page Tech host argues that the current segmentation into Pro, Ultra, and base models may give way to a simpler structure in which the “Air‑style” design becomes what most people think of when they hear the word iPhone.

Prosser considers the original iPhone Air an example of Apple’s long-term hardware vision, alongside—get this—the iPhone 4 and iPhone X. In his view, the Air stands out because it feels more like an accessory than a machine, with a thin profile that makes the physical device feel like an extension of the user rather than a separate object.

Looking ahead, he says the iPhone Air 2 will keep that same ultra‑slim feel, add a second rear camera, and use the same A20 chip planned for the base iPhone 18, all without making the phone thicker. Also, a new lavender colorway is expected to replace the first generation’s sky blue.

In the video below, Prosser talks about internal changes like a more compact Face ID array and rearranged components as engineering work that lets Apple give Air 2 modern performance and better battery life while protecting its original silhouette. However, there’s no mention of stereo speakers, which have been one of the biggest concerns for iPhone Air users, alongside battery life and the single rear camera.

The leaker suggests that the Air name might go away if this design becomes the iPhone’s new standard. He compares the iPhone XR to the iPhone 11, suggesting that future models could include three main types: iPhone, iPhone Pro, and iPhone Ultra (the upcoming foldable iPhone). The design would focus on being thin, like the Air. It will be interesting to see how Apple treats the Air in the upcoming years.
