Answering all the burning questions. Katie Maloney opened up about Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss‘ affair — and hinted at how much Tom Schwartz knew beforehand.
“I wasn’t shocked, but the details were shocking,” Maloney, 36, said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Wednesday, March 15. “I wasn’t shocked that it was Raquel.”
That same day, the “You’re Gonna Love Me” podcast host slammed Leviss, 28, for her decision to cheat with Sandoval, 40.
“You deserve … what’s coming to you right now,” she said on Wednesday’s episode of the “Give Them Lala” podcast before addressing her issues with Leviss over her brief romance with Tom Schwartz. “I gave you every opportunity. I was so kind to you when I didn’t have to be, but I was. The fact that you didn’t really step [up] or appreciate that or recognize that and you walked all over that and took a giant dump on it, you’re an idiot.”
Us Weekly confirmed earlier this month that Sandoval and Ariana Madix called it quits after nine years because he was unfaithful.
“Ariana found out [about the affair] after looking at Tom’s phone while he was on stage performing his new song,” a source shared with Us at the time. “It’s still unclear when Tom Schwartz knew or if he was blindsided.”
In response to the news, Leviss issued a public apology to Madix, 37. “I want to apologize for my actions and my choices foremost to Ariana, and to my friends and the fans so invested in our relationships. There is no excuse, I am not a victim and I must own my actions and I deeply regret hurting Ariana,” she wrote via Instagram on March 8.
The California native also addressed where she and the TomTom co-owner stand now.
“Besides the indefensible circumstances surrounding our relationship, my feelings for Tom have always been sincere and born out of a loving friendship,” she wrote via Instagram. “Knowing how many people we hurt, I need to understand my choices and learn to make better ones. I need to take care of my health, work on self growth and take time to be OK with being alone. I care for Tom and I don’t want to label anything or predict what lies ahead. Right now I need to heal.”
Sandoval, however, faced backlash when his initial response to the controversy didn’t mention Madix. He later issued a second statement toward his ex-girlfriend.
“I want to first and foremost apologize to everyone I’ve hurt through this process. Most of all, I want to apologize to Ariana,” he wrote via Instagram on March 7. “I made mistakes, I was selfish and made reckless decisions that hurt somebody I love. No one deserves to feel that pain so traumatically and publicly.”
The Missouri native continued: “I can only imagine how devastating this has been for Ariana and everyone around us. I feel really horrible about that. My biggest regret is that I dishonored Ariana. I never meant to disappoint so many people, including our loving families and friends.”
Madix, for her part, broke her silence after originally taking a break from social media.
“Hi. where to begin? i want to express my most sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love and support i have received from friends, family, and people i’ve never even met in the last two weeks,” the Florida native captioned an Instagram post on Thursday, March 16. “When i have felt like i couldn’t even stand, you all have given me the strength to continue and seen me through my darkest hours. to say i have been devastated and broken is an understatement. however, i know that i am not in this alone.”
She continued: “So many of my closest friends are also grieving this loss right now and reeling from this betrayal on so many levels. i am so f—king lucky to have the best support system in the world and i hope i can repay every single person for the love you have shown me. what doesn’t kill me better run. love, ariana.”
