Google’s NotebookLM Gets a Gemini Makeover

Google has renamed NotebookLM, the AI research assistant that lets users create virtual “notebooks” from their own documents, PDFs, and web links, then use AI to get summaries, answer questions, and create infographics, videos, and even podcast-like presentations.

Now called Gemini Notebook, the platform’s actual user experience remains the same as before. But the product is now clearly part of Google’s Gemini family—not particularly surprising, given Google’s choice to integrate NotebookLM with Gemini earlier this year. A total rebrand could help what was formerly NotebookLM reach more of Google’s users.

Gemini Notebook will have a secure cloud computer for each notebook. This cloud processing will first roll out to AI Ultra and Workspace customers, then to more Pro users on the web.
