Google Launches a Brand-New Gemini-Infused Google Finance App for Android
On Thursday, Google launched an all-new, AI-powered Google Finance app on Android. The software, which lets users track portfolios, analyze markets, and follow earnings in one place, was previously a web-based beta app.
The stable release of Google Finance allows users to create portfolios by uploading files, adding screenshots of their investments, or describing their holdings to Gemini. Once set up, the portfolio view shows performance and allocation across asset classes, sectors, and regions, and provides AI‑generated insights tailored to a person’s holdings and watchlists.
The Android app and its in-browser companion also offer AI‑driven financial research. Users can ask detailed questions about stocks, crypto, and markets and get answers that provide context and trends, along with their sources. There’s also an interesting new “key moments” view that highlights major stock price changes by displaying related news events, helping users understand why a market might have shifted on a particular day.
Google says an iOS version of the Google Finance app will arrive later this year.
