Acer’s Swift Blade 14 Tips the Scales at Just 65% of the MacBook Air’s Weight

Acer has announced the Swift Blade 14, a 14-inch Windows laptop that weighs just 799 grams (1.76 pounds) and measures 12.9 millimeters (half an inch) at its thinnest point. This makes it nearly a pound lighter than Apple’s 2.7-pound 13-inch MacBook Air, potentially making it a worthy competitor for users who want a lightweight laptop for school, work, and other on-the-go lifestyles.
The Swift Blade 14’s chassis uses carbon fiber on the top and bottom covers and a magnesium-aluminum alloy for the keyboard deck, helping the laptop maintain durability while keeping its overall weight low. It’s available in two colors, Marshmallow White and Marshmallow Blue.
The 14-inch screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio. The best thing, in my opinion, is that buyers can choose between an IPS LCD or OLED display, the latter being 2880-by-1800 with a 90Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage.
The Swift Blade 14 runs on Intel’s Core Series 3 Wildcat Lake processors, up to the Core 7 350. All models come with 12GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage. A 50Wh battery supports fast charging, and the laptop includes three USB-C ports, an audio jack, Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and an FHD webcam with a physical privacy switch. It runs Windows 11 Home.
Acer hasn’t shared the new laptop’s pricing yet, and without that crucial detail, it’s hard to know whether it will truly compete with the MacBook Air. We’ll likely know more when the Swift Blade 14 arrives in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East this December; no launch date has been announced yet for the Americas or Asia.
