Google Says a Fix for the Pixel 11 Pro’s Crackling Audio Is on Its Way
The Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL launched with a software bug that is causing crackling, popping, or static bursts in the audio of recorded videos. The issue appears to be connected to Google’s Video Boost feature, which uses AI to improve video quality.
Users note that crackling sounds occur most often in 4K recordings at 60 frames per second, and sometimes in standard recordings at other resolutions. These short bursts of noise appear every few seconds, making videos virtually unusable in sentimental or professional settings.
Some users find that turning off Audio Zoom, clearing the Google Camera app cache, or recording in 4K at 30fps helps reduce or even eliminate the crackling noise for a while. So does toggling Battery Saver mode or restarting the phone. However, these solutions don’t seem to work for everyone; even when they do, the issue often recurs later.
Google acknowledged the bug on Monday and says a fix is on its way. The company plans to roll out the update to users in the coming weeks through the Camera app, according to a statement sent to 9to5Google.
The brand also says more performance optimizations will arrive in an upcoming monthly Android update. Until the update lands, users can try the methods mentioned above; you never know what could work out for you.
