ROG Xbox Ally X20 Now Available Individually for Roughly Half the Bundle’s Price
Asus has finally given the ROG Xbox Ally X20 its own price. The brand is now selling the 20th-anniversary handheld on its own—no need to buy the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, which were previously part of a not-sold-separately bundle.
Asus opened preorders for the individual ROG Xbox Ally X20 on August 25, with shipments set to arrive on October 15. The handheld costs $1,299.99 in the US, while a premium bundle with ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 AR glasses, a dbrand Killswitch case, a 68W adapter, and a Pelican Protector Case costs almost double, $2,499.99.
The ROG Xbox Ally X20 uses the same core hardware as the ROG Xbox Ally X: an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Its differences lie in its display and controls.
The X20 has a 7.4-inch 1080p OLED screen that reaches 1,400 nits peak HDR brightness, supports FreeSync Premium Pro and Dolby Vision, and runs up to 120Hz. (The regular ROG Xbox Ally X has a 7-inch OLED display that maxes out at 500 nits.) The unit also features TMR joysticks that use magnets instead of potentiometers, which can help reduce stick drift.
The X20 is also the only model to celebrate ROG’s 20th anniversary with a clear case and gold accents. But not everyone wants AR glasses and all of the other fixings, making an individual purchase option a bit more palatable for many.
