Apple May Launch M6 iMac in New Colors Later This Year

Apple may be preparing a new iMac lineup, this time with the much-anticipated M6 chip and new colors, for later this year. The rumored desktop would follow a two-year gap since the brand’s M4 iMac launch in October 2024.
Apple is reportedly planning to keep the same all-in-one design instead of introducing a redesign, per Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter for Bloomberg. The new model will likely use Apple’s latest M6 processor, but no additional specs, including core count, graphics capabilities, memory, or storage, are known. That said, an OLED display is allegedly off the table.
Gurman’s report mentions “some new color options” but doesn’t specify what they’ll be or if Apple will eliminate some of its current colorways. The M4 iMac comes in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver.
An October announcement is possible, since Apple often announces Macs in the fall. We would expect a significant price increase, as Apple raised the cost of its current Mac devices, including its laptops, earlier this summer.
