Apple’s Next iPhone Unveiling Set for This September
Apple’s annual iPhone event is set for Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT.
Apple is focusing on premium iPhones this year instead of the base variant. The lineup is likely to include the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which are rumored to feature the new A20 Pro chip and start at 256GB of storage. The regular iPhone 18 is not expected to debut at this event.
The brand is also expected to introduce its first foldable iPhone, allegedly called the iPhone Ultra. Leaks from earlier this summer suggest the device will have a 5.5-inch cover display and a roughly 7.8-inch inner display, making it somewhat similar to Samsung’s all-new Galaxy Z Fold 8. The foldable is expected to implement Touch ID in the power button instead of Face ID, feature a thin titanium body, and offer two rear cameras without a telephoto lens.
Dubbed “Surprise and Shine,” September 9 will be Apple’s first major event under incoming CEO John Ternus, who takes over for Tim Cook on September 1. Cook has been Apple’s CEO since 2011 and is also Apple’s longest-serving CEO, even ahead of co-founder Steve Jobs.
The event will be streamed live on Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, and YouTube.
