Spider-Man Got His Hands on the Upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide Before Anyone Else
Samsung has offered a unique first look at the much-anticipated wide-body Galaxy Z Fold 8. Late last week, the brand posted a dual-promotion image for Galaxy Unpacked and Marvel’s upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The image teases a thin yet wide frame, a dual rear camera stack, and hardware buttons that have shifted closer to the top edge.
Samsung will introduce two new Fold 8 models this year, including a large-screen format colloquially dubbed the “Fold 8 Wide” and a Fold 8 Ultra, both set for launch at Galaxy Unpacked in London this July 22. The new design focuses on creating a more phone-like outer display and a tablet-like inner experience to improve usability compared to previous Fold generations.
The Fold 8 seems to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. Leak‑based reports suggest the lineup will also feature a high‑resolution primary camera, longer battery life, new hinge changes, and (hopefully) a less noticeable crease, but Samsung has yet to confirm anything.
This Galaxy Unpacked could also be the final time we see an addition to the Galaxy Z Flip family. The Flip 8 is expected to be the last of its kind, based on a tip from May.
Beyond phones, the event is expected to show off the new Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Samsung’s first “Galaxy Glasses,” smart glasses running Google’s Android XR, are also on the cards.
